We need a Mac OS X print queue monitor developed. An existing Windows product has been developed to model from. This Monitor will do the following: A) Intercept any job printed to any printer installed on the machine without additional configuration. B) 'Hold' the print job, communicate via XML with a server on the local network, prompt the user for additional information, transmit that to the server and recieve back the 'continue print' or 'cancel' print event. C) If cancel print delete the job with a warning to the user D) If 'continue print', pass to the printer for output. E) All server software is existing and a full XML specification is available. F) We will provide DETAILED specifications including full UI and workflow. There will be no 'what does this do' with our project, it will all be 100% defined by professional program managers. G) Only needs to be compatible with the latest OS X release that utilizes the CUPS print architecture. As you can see by our bid amount, we are serious in getting this developed in a timely (30 day schedule if possible) fashion. There will be ongoing work for the developer involved as feature requests, bug fixes and new platforms are brought into the mix. We see this as the first step in a long term contracting relationship with an individual developer or a development firm. We are looking for initial bids and will pick the top 5 to pursue further refinement of the specification with. for final pricing. Most important to us is the demonstrated ability to interact with the print queue in the required fashion.
