Address [login to view URL] will not let the user specify where to place a mailing label on a sheet of Avery labels. For example, if there are two columns and three rows of labels on a sheet, Address Book will only print a mailing label in the top left. Selecting six addresses to include will populate the entire sheet of labels, but since most people don't print six labels at a time, the mailing label feature in Address Book is absolutely useless for the corporate customer and many individuals. I spent a long time on the phone with Apple Care, and was told that it wasn't possible to specify where on the page to print the label. I find it hard to believe that a company like Apple, which is claiming that their products are ready to enter the business market, are not capable of printing address labels properly. Therefore, I am looking for a Cocoa developer to write a program that will easily print address labels. It can either be a standalone application, or it can be a plugin in Address Book. It should allow the user to manually enter an address in addition to pulling mailing addresses from the Address Book data using the AddressBook framework. It should also follow Apple's usability guidelines and be simple to use. The ability to print multiple labels and to specify where on the page they start is important, as well as a preview pane to make sure the label(s) will be printed in the correct position. This project will be released under the MIT license and posted to Google Code if there is interest among open source Mac developers.
