Google Maps API project

I have a task to be made with Google Maps API, here is a description: 1 - Display: Plot points on map with a given coordinates from DB and the data tied to the coordinates(on the map itself and near it). 2 - On different zoom levels different amount of points(on more zoom, more points) 3 - Select: User can select a starting point, then another one, and so on, while selects the starting point - that means the multiselected shape will be closed. 4 - Return a record(s) from DB with the coordinates in the shape selected. 5 - Display them on the map with the data available in the DB and same data just near the map itself. Code should be Object Oriented, clean, and well commented. it will be integrated into Codeigniter framework, so any knowledge of it would be a bonus and can lead to a future cooperation.
