I have a variety of MySQL databases all constructed the same:
One table named "Episodes"
The table has three fields:
Title, Number, AirDate.
The project is to construct a page to view the DBs' data in tabular form. The table will have three columns, one for each field name. The columns will have the names Title, Number and Air Date, in that order.
The default sort order of the table data will be by Title, ascending.
Clicking a column title will toggle the displayed data between ascending and descending sort order for that column. That is, if I click the Title column head, it will toggle to sort by Title in descending order if it was already ascending. If I click the Number column head, the data will sort by Number, ascending. A second click on Number will reverse the order to descending. Same for the Air Date column.
This single page will display any of the databases desired. Links to the page will be constructed with the name of the desired DB and that part of the link will cause the appropriate include file to be loaded by the page such that the desired DB is displayed.
For example, [login to view URL] will cause the include file "Jones.incl" to be loaded by the [login to view URL] page. The include file will be of the form:
<?php
$hostname = "[login to view URL]:3306";
$username = "MyUserName";
$databaseName = "DBName";
$password = "PasswordForDBName";
?>
Using the included information, the [login to view URL] page will query the designated server, loading and displaying the desired database.
