We are seeking to build a robust directory website that will also include a very capable content publishing platform. Initial plans for search functionality and site features (i.e. maps, comments, tagging ability, plug-ins, payment processing etc.) have been detailed below. Would be very interested to better understand the extent of your experience with database creation / management, any previous work on directory sites (or those similar in nature), producing / reproducing elegant designs (not necessary but would be helpful), experience with PSD to HTML/XHTML conversion. WordPress has been identified as the CMS of choice. We have reviewed a number of WP themes that may be customized for our needs but have not come across anything particularly great. Please let us know if you have any recommendations. Although we are leaning toward WP, we remain open to other open-source platforms or custom solutions and would welcome suggestions outside of WP. We are targeting a launch date of June 30. Would like to have a designer and developer contracted within the next 1-3 days. Hoping to complete site development within 10-14 days to allow for site debugging, design / technical modifications, back-end familiarity, etc. After you've had a chance to review, please let us know your thoughts on time-to-completion and pricing.
