Required coding to implement an electronic safe lock using the Atmega32A microcontroller.
Using an Atmel STK500 development board, a 16×2 LCD panel, a 4×3numeric keypad, and a solenoid.
Fundamental operation of the safe is as follow:
-At start up, the safe is unlocked,
-And the user can start using the safe.
-The user will key in a 4-digit number of their choice, which is the password, and lock the safe using the “*” key.
-To unlock the safe, the user must key in the password he/she used to lock the safe and press the “*” key to unlock.
- During the locking and unlocking process, the solenoid will actuate accordingly.
-The safe will detect three consecutive wrong password entered and will toggle one of the LED on the STK500 board or displaying an error message on the LCD panel.
-After the three consecutive wrong passwords enter detected, the safe will be permanently locked. Hence the user’s stored password will no longer effective after this point.
When the safe is in the permanent locked state, an admin/master password is needed to unlock the safe.
Hello,
I have a long experience in Hardware and Software product design. I have used Atmel Controllers and Arduinos in multiple projects. I have used keypads and LCD panels in past projects.
From my understanding, the hardware is already wired and you need only the software that runs on the Atmega, right?
Please let me know...
Thanks
