207871 server/site slow

Server and the popular website hosted on it is suddenly loading unusually slow and connections are timing out. This could be connected to recent addition of GD libraries. My sys admin is not available on Sunday, thus this request is submitted. I need someone urgently to fix it with experience in Linux system administration. Also knowledge in PHP and MySQ should be essential.
