We are a small company looking to deploy 200 desktop pcs. What we want to do is have a script which will run during or after the automated GUI setup of Windows XP Pro. It needs to be able to look for the computers mac address in a flat text file and if there is a match it needs to change the ip address, subnet mask, default gateway and both dns servers to items defined in the text file for the specific computer.
Example:
001122334455 = [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL]
001122334456 = [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL]
It must be able to run within the limitations of the windows setup command prompt system, and be scriptable so we can modify the text file contents.
The perferred command format would be something like this
[login to view URL] /F:[login to view URL]
A higher project price will be considered if you can also deliver the following items as well.
1) Be able to mount a temporary network drive to a share, to read in the text file. That would advoid having to keep a static copy in the sysprep'ed image which may become outdated as technology changes. That would allow us to make changes on the fly on the server copy of the text file, and have the workstations be able to read it and use it immediately.
2) be able to set computer name from same text file
3) Be able to join a domain after all these changes have been put through. This freeware program ( <[login to view URL]> ) contains the ability to change the workstation name and join the domain, however it would be much easier to have 1 program which acomplishes all these tasks instead of 2 seperate programs.
## Deliverables
