Hello Coders, A friend of mine is a ceramic artist working on custom projects. To organize her work, she is using some Excel spreadsheets and MS Project. She would like to have a small application that will replace them. This should be a standalone application not an Excel add-on, for Windows XP only. No preferred language, however keep in mind that later this application should be web-enabled, multi-user, multi-project with a 3D visualization of the ceramic tiles work and more features. I have found on net a lot of documentation for classes in Java, VBasic. Application is composed of three modules: - Scheduling which has a Gantt Chart type functionality - Estimate (very simple algorithms, for example: how many 10 cm square tiles are needed for an LxWxH wall, how much in total, bags of grout, reinforcement, etc). I need a “library?? (database) for materials and resources. - Financial (bar chart on main screen, for example initial budget minus expenses, one or more views, etc) I want to be able to have a clear view of situation on a certain date: completed tasks, money, what’s next, etc. Scheduling module should work and feel as close as possible to MSProject, I have a list of “must have??, nice to have?? and “not needed?? features: HOWEVER, I will be happy with a minimum of features, just a graphical representation of tasks as bars, with no dependencies, no filters, couple reports, just basic things. Please let me know in your bid how close to MSProject functions can you go. Note that there are dependencies between these three modules. Coder should be expert in GUI design, ideally familiar with MS Project. I will send you more info on requirements after you bid on my auction. I plan to pay 40% on weekly milestones, 40% on beta and rest at the end. Time is not a constraint, don’t want a rush job, I can allow up to 8 weeks because I need time for testing also. I have a $200 reserve for bonus work. Please let me know detailed can you go with such a project.
