Niche Social Community/Network

We are creating a niche social network/community website for crafters. Seeking professional developers to create an amazing site where members of our community can organize their projects and supplies, share their progress and finished projects, learn from each other, and inspire others. The site must look great, be intuitive, EASY to use, interactive, and addicting! It must be able to scale to over two million users with millions of projects and have a framework/API for future expansion with iPad/Android apps, etc. The site look and feel must be compelling, unique and not in violation of any copyrights. Any open source or licensed software component used within the site will used within the published license agreement and not require submission of source code alterations and be royalty free. Applicants must have a proven track record of effectively developing large social sites with an Agile / SCRUM development methodology. The site must include all functionality available on FB along with functionality specifically targeted for crafters. User stories for crafter specific functionality are available to serious applicants under NDA. Bid on this project if you: • Can provide links and references for a large social networking site you architected and developed. • Can provide example design documentation of previous work. • Can start work on the project, if awarded within 2 weeks. • Can take the time to read and thoroughly understand project requirements before submitting a proposal. • Can provide resumes and example projects for each member of the team. • Agree with the payment terms below. • Have a team who has worked on Large Social Network Website before. • Are serious about taking large project. • Can complete the project within 120 days. Payments: All payments will be funded and paid through an escrow payment. Payments will not be paid directly and we will not pay the provider upfront. Buyer will post payments based on the payment schedule described below. Upon signing the contract, a deposit of $500 will be made to show commitment to the project. The project will be conducted in 3 phases/iterations. At the end of each phase a production ready system with the feature/functions defined for the phase will be launched. A cost break down for each phase must be included in the proposal. Funds for each phase will be deposited to the payment account at the beginning of the phase and remain pending until milestones/deliverables are approved and funds are released by the Buyer as outlined below. For each phase, the first 50% of payment released to the Provider by the Buyer once the full functionality for the phase is completed, tested, and uploaded to our test server to our satisfaction. Provider receives 2nd 50% of payment once the phase is debugged, deployed to our production server and has proven performant, stable and bug free for 60 days. Each phase must be 100% complete before funds for the phase will be released. Expectations The code should be modular and well-organized and should not contain any encrypted files. You must ensure that all modules work together cohesively. Design and interactivity of code interconnections must be intuitive and well documented. The code must be understood by our programmer and by your colleagues for future enhancement. End result must be stable; have a professional look and feel; include solid security; be easily expandable; perform with page load times of less than 1 second; and must be able to scale to over 2 million members. Provider must demonstrate Provider will supply all images and icons required for site design and images will be unique and royalty free. This project must not rely on any services that require monthly (or other) payments. Any licensed software, open source, or plugins required must be disclosed in the proposal.
