We have an online store, we want to check out the competition by going to a shopping website and taking the first few results of a particular item and entering it into our database.
Bascially the way it will work is we will identify a product that we want checked in our database, there will be a page that has a list of our categories listed that have products which are identified as requring the pricing to be checked. Then you can select which categories are to be run and after that the script will scrap the shopping site for the info.
There will be a page that displays all the results found and show our cost/sell and competitors sell price and a couple other bits of info with a text field and a checkbox to update all the products at once.
We only want the products for categories listed in the categories that were just run. We want the results page to be able to be displayed separately from the query page (i dont want to run the scraper to get the results again). So you would need a separate page with a way of viewing those same categories again, which would be displayed by default after the script has run, maybe you could display the results originally using a GET post.
It will be written in PHP and MYSQL. I will provide example database structure of the products table, you will most likely create a new table in the database and use that for the storage of the info retrieved.
I am ready to begin this project today. I am certified in PHP Mysql website development. Send me a private message so that we may discuss the project further and begin.
