I would like a link feeding/rating/posting system that will function as follows:
)? An individual can place a link to a news article into a "news queue";
)? When placed into the news queue, the software will automatically pull the headline, source, and first paragraph along with the URL; the individual placing the news article/link can also input a brief comment about the article (very similar to how Facebook pulls article headlines/summaries when they are shared on a user's page);
)? Once the news queue fills up with x (5, 10, 15, etc.)? links/articles, the queue will send the links to an editor with a separate interface;
)? Within that interface, the editor will be given a series of paired comparisons of articles (featuring the headline, source, first paragraph, comment, etc.) and will be required to pick which article in each pair should be retained;
)? An editor should have the ability, via a button/click, to "kill an article" and remove it entirely from the queue"
)? Within the editor interface, the editor should be required to rate each possible article pairings (e.g., 10 articles will have 45 pairs - n*(n-1)/2 pairs);
)? After all article pairings have been exhausted/rated, the article that has been selected the most will be the "winner";
)? The editor will be given the option to rewrite the headline and brief summary/comment on the "winner" story; and
)? After the editor edits the "winner" headline, he can immediately post the article's full content to a Blogger/WordPress/Movable Type account.
At this point, I do not care at all about graphics.? I only care about the development of a proof of concept for the feeding/ranking functionality.
