GO-Biz has been tasked with finding a counting solution for a Pop Warner Football League in Orlando, FL. Our goals are as follows:
The National Pop Warner organization mandates that each child receives a minimum amount of plays per game. for example if a team has a total of 25 players on a team, each player must receive a minimum of ten uninterrupted plays, which doesn't include kick-offs or extra points.
One of the major problems that the leagues face is that they are using a paper system to count each players plays and it gets confusing as players are constantly going in a out of the game. If it is found that a player did not get his or hers minimum plays, and their team won that game, that win can be protested and taken away from that team.
Our solution to this problem is to post a small bar-code label on the back of the player's helmet coded with that players number on it. We'll use a handheld device to scan the players in a out of the game and count the number of plays by pressing a button on the handheld to increase or decrease the player play count. At the end of the game we would like to sum up each players plays in a report by placing the handheld device into a cradle and downloading the player's info. We would like to create a DB-report and print it out on a form created in VB.
