Hi, I want to import Amazon products into OSCommerce, I know there are free scripts but I like OSCommerce.
I need Amazon categories creating in OSCom, for this I am thinking about a creating a treeview display, using browse node lookup calls. [login to view URL] has a browse node lookup example which returns browse nodes. Put a checkbox next to each node and a "go" buttons, when it is pressed the relevant categories are creating in OScom, both main categories and subcategories.
To import data I am thinking about a series of drop down menus to select a certain browse node. Then have a button to import the data.
I do not know wether to actually import the actual Amazon data itself or pull it in real time to keep prices upto date.
There may be a need to create some new fields in Oscommerce to store the data.
I would need related items, this is all available via XML.
For purchasing I need two methods, to be selectable, one is an Amazon buy button on the product detail page, the other is the straight forward shopping cart method using Oscommerces cart, of course the final part is done by Amazon.
To demonstrate the above I have a similiar piece of software written in ASP.net to show the bidder what I require.
