Company web site - must be beautiful and functional

This website will feature photographs of my company's projects. It must be a very high quality and professional presentation. We are competing against billion dollar revenue companies and our website should look better than theirs! I want a slideshow on some pages. I want nice menus and navigation. I want custom layouts on most pages. The site can be built on a CMS or other application, but it must not look like it is template driven. Each page must be uniquely laid out. I want to use CSS very well - no HTML tables for layout. I do not want a total flash website. I prefer HTML with possibly a limited amount of flash (such as in the logo). I also want SEO best practices incorporated into this project. For a specific set of keywords, I want to rank high in Google search results. Non-admins need to be able to update content on the site. It would be nice if they can change pictures, update the slide shows, tweak keywords in the text, etc. The site will feature several hundred photographs and at least 100 pages. ## Deliverables * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Wednesday Sep 3, 2008 6:28:10 PM: Thank you for your interest in my project. However, we do want non-techies to be able to update text and pictures easily, so some back-end functionality is desirable. Our current site runs Community Server 2007 (DotNet 2.0). However, we can host on either Ubuntu Linux or Windows 2003, and we are not committed to staying with DotNet. Other languages like PHP, python, etc. are OK. LAMP is fine. DotNet is OK too. Minimal flash and/or javascript is fine. It would be cool to have nice menus and maybe some flash for the logo (just a slight adaptation of the existing logo), but we DO NOT WANT a flash site. We want CSS + XHTML. One option we have is to adapt your design and CSS to Community Server 2007, so let us know if you have CS skills. If you don't, that's OK. We can ditch CS too. If you have SEO skills please say so. If you don't, then we can always break the SEO part off into a separate project. We will create all text for the site. We can insert/upload the text.
