Hi! I need to integrate a recurring payment system already provided by a credit card processor into our current shopping cart software (Zencart). What we want is to give our customers the chance to pay in full at once or in 2-5 installments, which we want to be done from inside zencart. 1- Ideally we would have two levels of recurring payments for memberships. The first is for a single purchase of a membership and spreading the credit card payment over a period. The second would be an automatic payment at time of renewal which might also be a recurring payment (so a yearly recurring payment that kicks off a monthly recurring payment for X months). So, in the first case I decide to pay for my $499 gold membership in 3 payments. In the second case, I want to pay for my $499 gold membership in 3 payments and then in one year, when my membership needs to be renewed, automatically renew with another round of 3 payments and do this every year. So top cycle of recurrence is yearly that kicks of a cycle of 3 monthly payments.
2. I think a confirmation and then storing that confirmation in a way that we can refer to it later would absolutely be necessary. Not sure what options [login to view URL] has for this, but I think it should be part of their service in some way?
3. Must do all this development on the test site. Test it there and once it is proved to work, reviewed, etc.. The test site is [login to view URL], the zencart admin is already set so that all [login to view URL] transactions are in test mode (this is a zencart option, but I also believe it is an [login to view URL] option, i'm not sure, research what this test mode is on zencart and [login to view URL]). Once it is moved to production, we will do some sort of minimal testing in a way that the test ids, orders, etc be easily removed.
