Ruby on Rails pilot application

This project is a pilot RoR project. We are interested in finding an individual who can work with us on a long-term basis on different Ruby-on-Rails projects. We are a small stable US-based software company that creates sports-related web-based software applications. We would like responses from individuals rather than contractor companies, since we are more interested in finding a single person who would like to work with us long term (for the next year at least). This pilot application will be to create REST-based web services for college soccer (known as football everywhere but the US) played in the United States. The application will create career reports for soccer players. It will have a minimal web-based user interface, but most of the usage will be from web services using JSON or XML. The application will import an existing legacy XML format for games, and then make that data available as career reports. We are software developers and have extensive Rails experience, and as such can provide any technical help needed during development. The source code will be housed GitHub, we will provide an empty git repo to use. The application will be deployed to Heroku and we will provide an empty Heroku app. The software will need to be developed in Ruby 1.9.3p286, RoR 3.2.8, MySQL 5.5 (local dev) and Heroku's Postgres DB for production. You may use any gems you feel are necessary (XML parsing, etc.) that work on Heroku. ## Deliverables Detailed requirements and a sample XML file are in the attached zip file.
