Part Time Server Administrator

Our company is an online community development firm based in the US. Our vision is to utilize the power and potential of the Internet to connect people and groups as never before. We are currently in the development phase of our application. We are looking for a long term part time (now) Server Administrator with proven abilities to be an important part of our team. The system administrator will be required to: ● Install and configure all required software services or daemons ● Ensure all software is patched with the latest secure versions and provide a solution to monitor the releases of new software versions. ● Describe secure access protocols to server for administration. i.e : SFTP,SSL etc ● Install and monitor Server monitoring software to track : ● disk space ● network bandwidth usage ● ram usage ● processes ● mail volume ● CPU usage ● file usage ● web statistics for marketing and affiliate tracking ● Design and implement a disaster recovery protocol that includes : ● backup strategy of all data and applications ● redundancy ● step by step recovery plan Hardware: ● Single AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 1.8 Ghz ● 1 GB ECC RAM ● 120 GB EIDE fixed disk ● 100MB Ethernet ● 1 dedicated IP address ● UPS – Power BackUp ● Managed Backup Agent Software: ● Windows 2003 Standard Edition 5 CAL ● Ruby ● Rails ● MySQL 5+ ● Red5 v0.5 ● SMTP ● JRE 1.5.0.07 ● SFTP service At this time there isn't a lot to do except get aquainted with the team, project and specifications. We plan to launch our product in February at the latest but we need a solid, reliable and trusted person in this capacity at that time.
