I am the proud, new owner of a website that uses a CMS to manage the content and that also has a WordlPress blog. I am looking for someone who is willing to teach me how to make changes to the blog and website. The CMS does not always work as well as I would like it to, so I will need some instruction on making changes to the CSS style sheets. My goal is to improve the design of the site and the functionality. I need someone with a strong design background, as I need to make changes to the layout and typography and add graphics.
I am looking for someone who is intimately familiar with WordPress, who can make recommendations on improving security and on different plugins and then help me install the plugins we decide upon. I need someone familiar with standards compliant CSS and server side software.
As we work together, I want to know what my options are and the advantages and disadvantages of different solutions or approaches.
You must have good (doesn’t have to be perfect) English communications skills, as we will be talking on the phone. You must enjoy teaching and explaining how things work, and you must be good at putting things into layman's language. If you’re not patient with newbies, please do not apply!
If you send me a PM, I’ll send you the link to my website in its current (unfinished) form. After taking a look at the website, I’d like to know what you feel are the areas of opportunity and where your strengths and talents lie. I’d also like to see a sample of your work; i.e., a portfolio of projects you've worked on and your contribution to the project(s).
I am looking for a long-term relationship with someone I can call on whenever I need help with my website or blog. The four hours you are bidding on is only so that you and I might try each other on for size. If it works for you and works for me, there will be plenty of more work!
Good luck, and I will reply to every poster/bidder.
