I am looking to enhance my current Joomla 1.5.15 site into a full military news portal. The site already exists. I want the site to scrape for multiple rss feeds and bring some of the best news from the top sites into one portal. The site uses the newest theme from Rocketheme and I want it to be integrated so it looks good. This just means use the module slots to make the site look good. I want to add disqus into the site also. I already have an account. Lastly I want facebook connect so people can login easily. The site also has the newest version of Jomsocial so I just want to make sure this works with everything like facebook connect. If you know a better way please let me know but I am trying to build an incredible military portal and I only want someone that can actually do an awesome job. I don't want someone that just puts RSS addresses in and says here you go. I want this to look great otherwise I will rate you low. Can you make Joomla into an awesome News Portal? Hi there - Joomla expert here. I know exactly what you want with the site because I have done it before (check links in PM) I can do a trick where the RSS content is feed into Joomla as actual articles not just displaying the Title a brief description and a link back but the whole thing as joomla content. I also have experience in integrating Twitter and Facebook to Joomla. I could rig it up so the news comes in by a cron job, then is published ever 30 mins to both twitter and facebook as well as in the news section of your site.
