Mobile App: Port Components from Native iOS (SwiftUI) to React Native -- 2

The Preptrack Foundation is a healthtech charity. We build tech to support HIV prevention through making PrEP simple. PrEP is a medicine that eliminates the risk of HIV if taken correctly. However, many people find PrEP too complicated. That's where we come in. Our first app, Preptrack, is live on the App Store in the UK and has a large community of active users. This project involves porting the app from native iOS code (Swift + SwiftUI) into React Native, for deployment on both Android and iOS. Core requirements === We'd like to hear from you if you: * are proficient with JavaScript and React Native, * love writing clean code for complex features * write rigorous tests hand-in-hand with your code, * have an eye for building pixel-perfect components, and * are comfortable using git and GitLab for code hosting and code review. Key skills === To be the best fit for this project, you should be able to: * Develop specific app components in React Native * Read and understand Swift code as your source material * Match pixel-to-pixel from our existing SwiftUI app to the new port * Write Jest unit tests and snapshot tests to validate your work Workflow === Our in-house engineers will be developing the app in parallel. Typically, we would expect you to take on a rough but functional component that is already "wired up", and style it up to match the existing SwiftUI components. You will also add or update any tests as necessary, and provide screenshots of your components on both iOS and Android for comparison. When components are ready to be styled, we would like to tag the developer in GitLab saying that the work is ready to be started. Communication will take place primarily through GitLab, though we can use Slack for questions and discussion. We will start with simple components to get to know each other, before moving onto more complicated parts of the app. We will work hourly and on an ad-hoc basis. === To apply, send us a message describing your experience and why you'd like to work on the project.
