Flash/PHP Project

We are looking to improve the look and feel of one of the features on our website. If you go to the url: <[login to view URL]> you will see in the upper left corner a ticker that shows the last 15 people that have taken a tour at our website and the total number of people that have taken a tour. This is a simple php script that searches our database and lists the last 15 people in the database and the time they took the tour. The ticker is integrated into the page using an iframe. I want to display this ticker in realtime, so every time someone takes a tour of my website, I would like the ticker to update. I know I can do this using a simple meta refresh, but I hate the constant clicking noise when it refreshes. What I need is the use of flash to make this work without the clicking noise. I also want some cool effect when we get a new member taking a tour. I was thinking that using flash, the php script is always monitored and when someone takes a tour, all the names fade away and there is text that comes up and says, "Another Person Just Took a Tour," then all the 15 names are updated in realtime and listed, but I was thinking that they would list one by one starting at the top and moving down until all 15 are there. Also, the total number would adjust as well in realtime. Right now, for me, it shows 32,446, so it would adjust in realtime. I believe we avarage 2-4 new tour takers every minute so the script would need to monitor it every 5 seconds. I am definitely open for any other cool effects you may have in mind for the ticker. It does not need to list all 15 as well, it can list 10 names if that is better. I have attached the php script that we use for this page to list the last 15 people and the total amount visited. You would need to build the flash and add any php to monitor the database is realtime. The ticker dimensions are: width=200 height=325 Please let me know if you have any questions.
