Download Accelerator for kohana script

Hi i have script writed in Kohana. Script download massive files (from 100mb up to 2GB ) on server and i wondering it is possible to make download accelerator for this files. Maybe it's possible to make some aplication works on server and accelerating the script like that maybe it's not necessarily to write somothing in kohana. I don't know soo turn to you. Please make your offer and the idea how it may works because i don't know that your idea is good form my system. Let the smartest win the job :P:D
