We are looking to build a Client-side database driven PDF viewer. App will appear to user as emulation of real book - including Cover, TOC, and flippable pages.
Example of interface and basic features:
This viewer will have the distinction of displaying PDFs directly from servers (like [login to view URL]) and present them in page-flip style book. The PDF/url directory will be accessed from an encrypted database that can be appended with new or updated listings.
Features include:
Displays PDF documents directly from url (non-download).
Integrated DB url library
Bookmarking style properties inspector (similar to delicious) that uses tags when adding new listing. Database is displayed as as a re-organizable table of contents. List can be sorted by "tags", such as name, author, rating, etc.
Displays HQ PDF render; full screen option
Displayed PDF's links are active and open in (launch) user's default external web browser when clicked.
View options:
Book view (2 page)
Single Page view
Page rotation
Zoom In/Out
Page flip interface
Pre-renders pages in cache for previous/next page to minimize page load time.
TOC reorganization by:
A-Z titles
A-Z author
Tags
Rating
Drag and Drop url add - in toolbar and as "bookmarklet widget"
Auto prompts properties inspector
Adds link to DB/TOC
PDF Search mode
Display results
View links
Add to DB option
Additional features:
Save for offline viewing (download to specified folder)
Print (send to printer)
This product will be a stand-alone application, and cross-platform. Published content must be able to be activated/deactivated via registration code. Product needs to have a unique key generator, either integrated or as stand-alone service app.
Certain features will be only be available in "Pro" version, such as search bar feature and DB write access, and must be able to be defined at publish. These features also need to be "unlockable" via registration code.
