this website will be for a golf course to use to sell golf gifts to the clients that book a golf day product will be laid out in categories - balls, luggage, gift packs etc and also by Brand so if a client wants to lookk at all BRAND A's prodycts across ALL categories The plan is to have 100 golf courses use this website and have theor own designed skin on the home page so the client thinks they are going to a sire run by the golf club The client will place their order on line and need sto come to us with an authorsation email gong to contact at the golf club we then fulfill the order and deliver to golf club so product is awaiting client when the arrive at teh club for their golf day

It sounds like just the job for a customised version of oscommerce - which I have extensive experience of modifying to take additional parameters. The re-skinning is a clever idea, that way you get to maintain one set of products, and with each golf club you sign up comes another potential revenue stream.
