World Ocean Radio: English < European Portuguese

The World Ocean Observatory is seeking an experienced individual to translate World Ocean Radio transcripts from English to (European) Portuguese. Transcripts are on average 700 words. We pay $11/hour and each project will take, on average, 3 hours. We are looking for an individual with which to establish a long-term relationship; there exists an archive of nearly 250 episodes with the potential for many translation projects as we are looking to expand our global audience. Our goal is to translate four episodes twice per year (Spanish, French, Portuguese) and release them in a group mid-year (June) and late year (December.) Please inquire if you are a self-starter that enjoys getting work done quickly and efficiently. This first project (attached) is an episode entitled, "Mangroves." We would like to have enter into a trial arrangement with further work to come based on satisfaction of the finished translation. WORLD OCEAN RADIO is a weekly series of five-minute audio essays on a wide range of ocean issues hosted by W2O's own Peter Neill. WORLD OCEAN RADIO GLOBAL is a new feature which provides translations of WOR episodes into French, Spanish, and Portuguese. We will launch this new program in June of 2014.
