Weekly newsletter writing for mums

As we are a startup, we need to identify a freelancer, who will become our regular ghostwriter of our informative articles that will be sent to our subscribers. Originally, this assignment will be for 16 articles (to last till end of year) but can be extended. This ghostwriting is part of our outbound marketing efforts and aims to establish our relevance and authority with our target audience and subscribers (mums of babies between the ages of 0-3 years old who reside in the United Arab Emirates). Specifically, first-time mothers as the majority (over 85%) are nationals of other countries and do not have a support network here. Also, a lot of mums are working mums who feel bad for leaving their babies and toddlers with nannies or in nurseries. We have already sent out 13 different newsletters and here is the link so that you can understand the content, subject matter, voice, and tonality that we are looking for. [login to view URL] Ideally, the writer and her content needs to come as if they are a concerned mother who really wants to advice and support other mothers. The articles have to be warm, simple, and informative. Do not worry about layout and photos. We will be handling that. However, you will be working closely with us. In order to submit your proposal, we need TWO original pieces of content from yourselves on anything relating to baby's and their needs. Preferably, one should be specific to the United Arab Emirates and the other general. If we chose you, then we will be entitled to those TWO original pieces for FREE. If we do not, then we will offer you (if we want to) to purchase one or both pieces for $10 apiece (All or nothing proposition). Some do's: 1. The style should be closely related to the previous ones sent, but you should not cover the same topics. 2. No problem in taking content from world-wide Baby sites, but ensuring that you do not rely on one site but rather consolidate different opinions on the same issue. 3. Have a passion for babies, be a car seat advocate, and encourage breast feeding. 4. Suggest Titles, Headlines, Sub-headlines, and use bold and italics for certain words or sentences (if necessary). 5. Use British English (although proper American English is fine, but will be modified). Some don'ts: 1. Plagiarism is an automatic dis-qualifier. We will be checking for that. 2. Avoid too much technical writing with it not easy to understand for a 6th Grader. 3. Avoid lengthy words nor use colloquial words. 4. Be patronizing. The terms for hiring will be as a Monthly milestone Payment whenever we receive Four finished articles of (20% with the first Payment of 10% upon selection and acceptance by freelancer and the final payment as 30%). If you do not accept our fixed price of $200, then do not bid please. If you do not want to submit the TWO pieces of original content, then do not bid.
