Codeview to PDB

We use an old project system to create some of our executable images. This system creates .exe and .dll files with codeview debugging information. These images are 32-bit images, and will remain so for the foreseeable future. The codeview information is 100% correct and allows complete symbolic debugging in visual studio 2003. We need to be able to convert these image files to current, PDB format, debugging standard, allowing a recent version of visual studio to be used for symbolic debugging. We found a github project (C++) called CV2PDB which had the majority of the functionality to perform this translation. There were some minor problems, but after some editing the application does seem to read the codeview information and create a PDB file for the image. However, when attempting to load the resulting image and PDB into visual studio, the image is loaded without debug information. The goals of this project : 1. Check that the conversion from codeview to PDB is being done correctly, and if necessary perform corrections. 2. Determine why visual studio thinks the resulting image file does not have debug information 3. Correct the problem by adjusting the CV2PDB project source code. In short, successful conclusion of the project will result in a corrected CV2PDB application which converts codeview image files into an image file and PDB file which loads correctly in visual studio and presents full line and variable debug information in visual studio, allowing comprehensive symbolic debugging of the image. Note that we have many .exe and .dll files in this format, and that all of these should be convertible. The project is not concluded until every image converts correctly.
