Cartoon / Icon design

I need icons/cartoons to represent 8 words in a business development process as follows:- problem,proposition, people, pitch, pursuade, perfect (as in "to perfect something"), perform and proliferate. They will be used on a website and in slide packs for presentations. I am looking for something that will be credible in corporate presernations so the icons should be appropriate for business settings. I use the blue colour (R=15, G=117, B = 188) and they should be one colour only. I'm looking for ideas on how to do this such as using a single device for all 8 and using the words in the icon somehow. I hope that's clear
