Java video player loading videos from server

I have a current Java player that talks to server to retrieve a playlist and then download the videos to play repeatedly. I need to renew the codes so it can run with latest version of Java, and update the playlist retrieve function to get the playlist from a XML returned by the web server instead of the old way. The player used to play FLV files, I need the new player to be able to play mp4, avi, wmv videos too. The player also turns on and off according to the schedule retrieved from server. And it also shows 1 text msg at the bottom which is retrieved from server too. I am adding a new SSP video which the server returns an API URL and the player needs to call the API to get the video info I can provide the codes of the current java player and also the codes that tested with the SSP API calls
