Build a HTML 3D planet -- 2

We need an interactive 3D planet that can be included in a website and looks and interacts similar to google earth, build on the Cesium JS platform and library or ArcGIS. The planet needs to run seamlessly on mobile devices and on all regular browsers and needs to be moveable in all directions with a seamless zoom. The website containing the planet is not part of the job but can be a further project for the developer. The planet will be based on the measurements and data of mars/moon and the image files (tiles) provided by NASA or other sources. Mars Trek of NASA could serve as a model of what we need as well as the History of the Lunar Landings project on ArcGIS. On the surface of the planet, we need a grid with selectable areas. These areas need to be assigned to users and can be filled with content (first images) as well as a click opens a popup containing the users profile data. This data is stored in a SQL database. The goal for the grid shape is hexagonal tiles. We also need to set and visualize landmarks for special spots on the planet like landing sites. Further steps and not first priorities are: Making the surface 3D (like on the ArcGIS example), placing buildings on the surface, website integration. In the provided files you can see our prototype in action and parts of its source code. Also there is a list of links to helpful resources. We can provide more information on the existing prototype if needed as well as a link to the latest version set up on our server for full code insight. The first milestones are defined in the provided file. Changes to this and further milestones are possible after discussing with us.
