I need a javascript function that checks environment and returns results. Here is what it needs to do:
1) Detect whether javascript is on.
On = 1
Off/unknown = 0
2) Detect the operating system.
Win = W
Mac = M
Unix/Linux = L
Other/unknown = U
3) Detect the operating system version.
If detected = the version number up to one number after the decimal (truncate the rest)
Unknown = 0
4) Detect the browser.
IE = I
Firefox = F
Safari = S
Opera = O
Chrome = C
Other/unknown = U
5) Detect the browser version.
If detected = the version number up to one number after the decimal
Unknown = 0
6) Detect the screen resolution width.
If detected = number
Unknown = 0
7) Detect the screen resolution height.
If detected = number
Unknown = 0
8) Detect the version of Flash installed.
If detected = the version number up to one number after the decimal
Unknown = 0
Then return the results in an array with the value of each index number corresponding to the items above, like this:
environ[0] = ””
environ[1] = value from number 1 above (whether javascript is on)
environ[2] = value from number 2 above (operating system)
etc.
This needs to be cleanly coded and well commented. It needs to be a custom script, not a canned script that happens to include these things.
Thanks!
