So Machete Michelle is our first not-so-short-shortfilm, and the prequel to our next production feature... Machete Michelle was made to represent the vengeful vigilante that lives in us all. Her story was made to insight hope and power in anyone who’s been unjustly victimized in life. We literally just fell in love with the idea of having an anti-hero Black woman character lead. We decided to place her in a story that would resonate with people; vengeance for the death of her family. We wrote the script as learners, lovers, friends, and heroes; knowing that ultimately any of us could be Machete Michelle. We are inviting you to join our production power team. A team that’s built around folks who aim to see work created by us, for you. And with your support we can share with world that ‘other people’ possess just as much motivation and strength as anyone. That ‘other people’ can also be complex characters with layers and contradictions. And that people like us can also write, and direct these characters.
