Project Timer for Arduino
Using a Arduino board (model to be specified) and LCD to control the trigger of two cameras after specified count down times
Input 1. From a user operated switch, normally open, starts timers counting down.
Output 1, camera 1 trigger, H for 2ms when time reaches 0.
Output 2, camera 2 trigger, H for 2ms when time reaches 0.
Input 2 User input to set count down times using a switches to change count times and add new time (up to 12 timers)
LCD to display user GUI of active timers and display options to add or change times.
Operations, when input 1 goes low all timers (up to 12) start counting down, when each time reaches zero then out put 1 and or 2 goes high for 2ms, when all times are zero the system resets waiting for input 1 again.
User input GUI
The operator can add new timer and specific which camera to triggers (1 or 2)
The user can set the count down time for the new timer
The user can edit an existing timer to change the time and camera to trigger
Specifications
Up to 12 timers can be set up
Times from 0.5 seconds to 300 seconds in 1/2 second increments.
Options to change output duration 500us to 3sec
Once the timers start all inputs are disabled until all timers reach zero.

As far as project is concerned: this all 12 timers has to be unique, right ? Yes GUI LCD can be used for user to add delete or edit timer's.

The system will have the following. I can send u a picture if you message me.
RTC: An external real-time clock. This is optional. If you want accurate timing this is a good choice. If time doesn’t have to be that accurate we can use the timer inside arduino.
Start Button: Starts count down.
View Button: changes LCD to view mode where the count down time of each timer is shown.
Add/Change Button: used to add new timer or edit time of existing timer. After pressing this button Increment and Decrement buttons can be used to increment or decrement time. If time is zero for particular time then that timer is disabled.
Camera Select Button: Used to select the camera to trigger for each timer.

Along with Arduino UNO board we can use the TFTP shiled from Arduino itself for this purpose.

Regarding the project, I can do it in maximum 36 - 48 hours. I have done similar things earlier and I have a long time experience with Arduino (AVR in general).

I have worked on several Arudino projects and those are actually tagged as "Software engineering" tag and so I am listed 3ed here. Anyway, this is concurrent programming task that is we need to track all 12 supported timers simultaneously. As arduino code is a serial execution one, we need to simulate timers with minimum supported delay. This is fairly a large code (timer management, menu and lcd management) so that may exceed 32kb size. In that case we need to go for bigger arduino bard like Mega to get more flash memory. If the final code size is less than 32kb then we have plenty of choices to choose arduino boards even Arduino nano can be used.
There is another project that I worked is controlling DSLR with rasberry pi where raspberry pi will control camera via usb connection. Raspberry pi is a bigger processing board running with Linux. If you want to automate camera than we can consider using that as well. But it depends on your requirements.

I can help you design and build an arduino shield to support output triggers for your peripherals (camera's).
I will design the board to look nice and comfortableto control timing using switches (DIP/PB or whatever suits you)
about the gui,
I will program the arduino the enable inputs from buttons in order to program the counters.
Did you think about PC to configure these timers countdown value ?
