We need a small Scheduler Application which will schedule small executable on a specific Date and Time. The Scheduler should be intelligent enough that even during the scheduled time if the workstation is not running then it should automatically ask the user that the scheduled task is not started because of the workstation was not running and ask the user opinion to start it now.
The task what the scheduled executable is going to do is based on the display connected. There will be more than one task and more than one task can be scheduled for a particular display. Also the number of task should be dynamic so that a new task can be added.
So the user should be allowed to select more than one task for a particular display on a particular date and time.
The tasks are COM controls derived from the same Interface and have a Function named DoJob.
User has scheduled some tasks for a display. If he tries to schedule it again, old one should be replaced.
User Interface options 1. Frequencys: a. Once. b. Daily. c. Weekly. d. Monthly. e. Yearly.
2. Periods: a. Starting Date. a1 Starting Time. b. Ending Date.
3. List the avaiable( will be values from 1 to 9)
4. List of available tasks.
5. Administrative purpose: a. User ID. b. password.
Case
There are two display 1 and 2, connected to a workstation. A, B and C are tasks. Say if the user want to schedule the display 1 on any of the frequencies and date time then the selected tasks should be executed on selected frequency and Date time. Also say the user schduled the display 2 also on the same date time and frequency then it should start after completing the first display's tasks.
The Display 2 is scheduled in different time. But the Display 1's tasks are not completed. Then the tasks for the Display 2 should not start till the first displays' is completed.
