I just built video streaming capability into my Windows Mobile6 platform phone. Its fairly easy. I have the ability to stream video from a good deal of sites. The quality of course depends on the connection. I do need to know if most of your users will be using a 3G network, EDGE,etc. There can be bandwidth issues. As far as having 'no application' as stated in your post is almost impossible. A player that I have modified needs to be implemented on the phone. It hardly uses any memory and can be run from a memory card if the phone lacks space. I see you want to have the link opened from a txt message. I do believe this is very possible it just depends on the type of operating system you will be using. I do need to know the exact phones you are targeting.I see Iphone, Blackberry and a few others, but we I would like more info to give the project more of a broad appeal. Some will need slight modifications. Once the txt link is clicked it will then go and either open the player or you may want it to open the phones browser and give the user more content to choose from. If you have the ability to have the video included on the txt message then it maybe an even easier process. I am very interested in talking with you about this. I just built this over last weekend and feel since its so fresh in my memory I can keep tailoring it to meet your needs.
