Magento Theme, Coding only, Design is done

We recently hired someone here on freelancer to turn a 2 column magento layout into a 3 column layout by adding a sidebar to the right. The way it was done was not correct and the magento backend is not compatible with the new column/sidebar. Although the website is now a 3 column layout, in the magento backend, it still only says 2 column in all the templates. Magento is not reading the 3rd column so we have no control over it and many extensions we are trying to use are uncompatible with this incorrect setup. We need someone to either go into the website files and correct them so that magento correctly reads our template as a 3 column layout or recode the full website to work correctly using a the 3 column layout. The site we need fixed is currently live so there will be no design changes we just need our current website layout to work with magento. Requirements - 1) The website must looks exactly the same as it does now once it is fixed, no width change, no positioning changes, etc. We don't want any design changes. (The last person we hired made the website over 1300px wide and we needed to correct it ourselves) 2) The 3 column layout must be read and be accessible by the Magento page system, block system, and extension system.
