Overall requirements
This website, [login to view URL], is targeted towards people looking for a large vacation rental house in the mountains of Colorado. We typically serve large groups, multiple families, family reunions, and occasionally events.
We have a very active Summer and Winter season with mountain specific activities for both. There are 6 houses in total that are being advertised on this site, all in the same area.
Overall, there are 2 significant pages and a handful of simple ones. The significant pages are: main page and the house specific page. The simple pages include: Search Results, Luxury Rentals (listing of all 6 properties), Winter Park Activities, Contact Us, About Us, Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Site Map. The Search Results page will utilize an existing search widget (as described below). The other simple pages will largely be text with inline images. A number of these pages are described in detail below.
The website should be designed in wordpress or another tool allowing simple updates.
The site must be designed to be a responsive UI. It must look good and function on a tablet or phone. Generally, the proportions of the site should match [login to view URL] as the browser is resized (for house specific pages, see this as an example: [login to view URL])
The ability of this site to function fast and effectively at lower resolutions is a critical element of the design, as many of our potential guests use tablets and phones to search for their next vacation rental.
The website should be geared for SEO and setup for Google Analytics.
We will be using a number of embeddable HTML widgets from Bookerville, seen here: [login to view URL] The look and feel of the widgets should be modified to generally match that of the website, as noted in the design section.
These widgets are discussed in greater detail later in this document, but include:
Availability & Booking calendar on each house specific page.
Rate table on each house specific page.
Inquiry form on each house specific page.
Multi-property availability search page.
Finally, I will note that I work in the field of software development, so I understand that there may need to be some negotiation on some of the features. We have some elements of this design that are not flexible (ability to work on mobile devices well), but other elements if very expensive could be more flexible.
