38234 Web Service Validation

I require a web service and asp.net application both written in vb.net and compatible with microsoft visual studio .net 2003 and .NET 1.1 The asp.net application will call a registration method from the web service and pass user parameters such as name, age, email. The web service will accept these parameters and validate them against a set of rules, for example the user age must be over 18, the email should be valid etc. If validation has failed, a soap error message should be returned with the ClientFaultCode. The client (the asp.net application) should pick up the soap error and display the message to the user. If a soap error is picked up with the ServerFaultCode a standard error message should be displayed to the user. If validation is successful the user information should be stored to a database table and the new userID returned. If a server error occurs in the web service, the error should be caught and logged to a database table. The web service should be secure, either through the use of soap headers with authentication or some other suggested method. Please tell me if this is possible and if not suggest a suitable solution.
