In addition to LDAP, Active Directory can be used for domains requiring authentication. Your email server will be equipped with a top notch mature anti-spam protection, both inbound and outbound. This tool will have a nice webmail, a very nice administrator panel and all the required addons for a mail server (anti spam, anti virus and etc.). It runs on linux and it's based on postfix and dovecot. This tool will be also compatible with LDAP, and Windows' AD if present. I would need an estimate of accounts to migrate and I will have to take a look at your current scenario. On this kind of projects the real work is the migration.
