Software & Hardware prototyping a RS-232 to WIFI Converter

Programming & Hardware prototyping a RS-232 to WIFI Converter Revision 1.0 of March 8th, 2012 In need of electronic engineering help to make a small RS-232 to Wifi Converter (RWC) The job is: a) To make a simple RWC based on a processor circuitry, including one (1) Firmware prototype and full documentation. b) Providing detailed schematics in Altium (Protel) DXP Rev 7.2 format and a full Bill of Material including a minimum of 2 suppliers. A schematic must be provided for approval before layout work is begun. c) Make the program for the processor software to operate the RWC with the functions as described in the attached paper. Functional changes and suggestions are welcome, but must be accepted in writing by us, before implementation. d) The source code, with detailed annotation in English, and full documentation are to be supplied as part of the job. After full payment the IP belongs to us. e) The documentation must also include a written description in Words of the setup, operation and maintenance of the RWC. f) To make one (1) functional hardware proto-type with PCB layout made in Altium (Protel) DXP Rev 7.2. PCB size as small as possible. Location of key components will be provided, when the first schematic of the circuit to be used is presented. g) Low power consumption of the RWC is required due to potential operation in Battery mode. Sleep Mode when no data entry. h) To design and implement communication to and from a remote PC via Wifi to the RWC. i) Budget: The RWC’s component cost must be kept as low as possible. Simple solutions and low price components are preferred over complex solutions or expensive components where this can be done without compromising the quality and reliability. j) Providing options to the requested functions, if this can improve operation, lower production cost and/or improve quality. k) The Software language and the processor suggested used to solve the project must be provided in the bid. All communication and documentation are to be in English. The document describing the requirement for the RWC is to be followed. If any inconsistencies or conflicts are identified these must be brought forward as well as any and all suggestions for improvement are welcome.
