336433 XML auto insert into MYSQL

This project requires two simple tasks to be completed. a) Parse data from a frequently updated XML file on my web server and automatically insert the data into existing fields in an already built MYSQL database. The code needs to automatically do this every two hours. b) Using PHP or javascript, create code that will give a numerical value to how many times a new record has been inserted in that same day, that week and that month. For example: "4 applications have been submitted today." "15 this week" "250 this month"
