focus group - embedded linux

We are working on a very compact embedded linux distribution and need to receive some feedback from 3rd parties, in a form of a report towards best practices/approaches towards compatibility with different types of hardware with different specs. What we are looking for: A focus meeting of 3 people, me and two other unrelated embedded linux developers; we are posting two different project, you are now bidding for one of them. Experience and knowledge required: 1) Relevant embedded linux 2) Great experience with the Linux OS, from building kernels all the way down to firewalls, routing, load balancing/QoS 3) C/C++/EC++ programming experience 4) Experience with a broad range of linux-based networking devices, such as routers, wireless access points, firewalls 5) Chipset driver development 6) Building and deploying source code into working, ready to install firmware 7) Advanced networking experience on all network layers. The group meeting will use skype for voice/chat communication at a time we’ll all agree on. You must have a working internet connection, a headset, and 3 up to 4 hours of your time spread over 2 days. First day’s time will be dedicated towards briefing, 2nd day’s time on discussing approaches, practices, risks, resolutions, potential outcome. In between you may take time to research whatever you feel it needs researched. You will then individually prepare an outline/report on everything discussed and deliver to me. Based on meeting results, this may turn into a job/contract. ------------------------------------------------------ Before bidding on this project please make sure you read the rules below: - Only freelancers from the US/Canada/EU are accepted. If you are from India, you need not bet. - We are looking to discuss with developers and not project managers, sales reps, support reps, whatnot. - You need to have experience as per above. If you bid without having experience, we’ll know and flag you. - We would like to get a message from all bidders about their experience, related past projects, references if any, links to open source code you may have developed, tech blogs, and so on. If you don’t send this message we will ignore and flag your bid. - I am NOT interested in generic sales letters pitching stupid joomla sites and other unrelated bla blah. If you send something like that, I’ll flag your bid, report your message as violation, and report you to GAF support. - If you don’t speak fluent English, DO NOT BID. We don’t have the time to spell things out to make sure people understand what we want and what we’re doing. - Don’t bid if you have a generally negative, can’t do attitude. We want people who can do things, not whiners who only think about different ways of failing. - Again no bids from India. We don’t want to work with you. It’s not in my nature to be mysterious, but I can’t discuss about this and I can’t discuss the reason why. Simply stay away if you’re from India. - A positive, friendly attitude will be required from all participants. We’re sure you’re good, you don’t need to blind us with egos the size of mt. Everest. That won’t get you a fatter pay, you’ll just bore us to death. - Professional attitude, approach, and organized methodological thinking is a must. If you’re a cowboy, we can’t accommodate you. - Please bid the amount you want to get paid for up to 4 hours of discussions. - Once a meeting schedule and agenda are set up, you will need to follow that. If you decide your dog should die the 2nd day, or you need to mow your lawn, you can see about it later. - Payment will be sent via escrow ONLY, before the meeting, and release only on delivery of your reports. Don’t even think of talking your way around this. - You will need to sign a NDA before anything else. - Also please don't send a dumb message saying something like "yes sir i can do this sir as you require". I want real bids with real cover letters detailing your experience. If you send a dull and stupid message we'll flag you.
