BID I hold a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Biology and Demography from University of Malawi and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with the University of Zimbabwe. I worked for five years at various levels in the financial industry with Commercial Bank of Malawi initially as a management trainee and thereafter worked in several departments. In data capturing department I initially mostly did data capturing of debts and credits and later supervised the department. Supervision involved ensuring that the data was captured correctly to the right account holder. In accounts department as a supervisor one of my duties was to ensure that I analyzed the information on the daily reports. I also worked for Bowler Beverage Company and Workwise Company in Malawi and Zimbabwe as a sales and marketing manager. The work involved marketing research, selling a range of products by continually identifying key requirements to increase sales. Initiating a good contact strategy that ensured good customer follow-up. Ensuring that additional products were being and continued to be positioned to attract further orders thereby increasing customer commitment and maintaining consistent growth and aggressively selling in the distribution network. ADDITIONAL JOBS Some of the jobs I have been involved in are: (i) Data entry and analysis on the project on “Impact of Regional Differentials and Age-Sex Structure on Economic Growth in Malawi.” University of Malawi – Chancellor College. (ii) Recording measurements on growth zone area in a maize plant – three times a day – University of Malawi – Chancellor College. (iii) Project managed on “Impact of Global Forces on Small and Medium Enterprises in Africa.” Case study of Kenya – Done for University of Zimbabwe- Graduate School of Management. (iv) Data entry for Malawi National Population Census in 2008. (v) Data entry for a project on Water sources in Malawi for Save the Children Fund (UK).
