caricature cartoon and header banner for mainstream blog on diet/health issues

I need a cartoon character that will represent the blog author in social media and a header for the blog. Blog title: GAPS for T2 diabetes Blog URL: [login to view URL] The blog covers the topics of food and food preparation (with recipes), nutrition science, and health issues (aside from T2 diabetes, also adrenal health, thyroid health, chronic fatigue, etc.) The blog author is a biochemist and enjoys cooking from scratch. My customer would like an original cartoon "character" that would represent her that could be used for social networking. This character will represent a 50 year old woman who wears glasses, has shoulder-length, thick, curly brown/grey hair and is slightly overweight and bosumy. Should be a feeling of a cross between a librarian/geek kind of chick and a mom/cook kind of chick. I also need a header for the blog incorporating the character. It should be 900 px wide, any height (but I don't like giant headers that take up a quarter of the page). Food imagery would be very appropriate to be included. The GAPS protocol has a limited group of foods allowed which can be found here: [login to view URL] Important components to include are eggs, fresh meats (no bacon, ham or other processed meats), liver & other organ meats, fish & shellfish, fresh fruits & vegetables (especially avocado and squashes), fermented foods (yogurt, kefir & sauerkraut) and healthy fats (butter, coconut oil, olive oil). Because the author is a biochemist, something clever incorporating both science and fresh foods would be perfect; perhaps a cornucopia coming out of an erlenmeyer flask. We're not attached to this particualr idea, I'm just using it to illustrate that my customer wants something cute that incorporates both the science/geek and homemade cooking/gardening portions of her personality.
