Timeline chart of Islamic architecture -- 2

I need to make a timeline chart of the Historical evolution of mosques. I have all the data in terms of texts and the kind of diagrams needed,etc.I have hand-made rough diagrams. I want someone to design the chart to make it look interesting and also make the diagrams digitally. I have previously made a chart which i am attaching for reference but there is no such restriction on the format except that it should be well-readable. Its an evolution chart so it should be easily understood to the viewers. What i really want done is to represent this timeline properly so that graphically it looks good when it comes together and not boring like my chart looks right now. I would leave it upto the person to see how the design of the timeline should be; what kind of outline would look good on it. I am sending you an outline of the categories and sub-categories that would be included in the timeline.(in excel format) I am also sending you images of the rough draft of the parts of the timeline which i have prepared by hand. Almost every category has diagrams which i would like to be made digitally so that it looks cleaner. The images,etc for every topics are there with me,so i shall be sending those to when we finalise on going ahead with this. The text which i have written alongside every diagram should not be the focus. The images and diagrams are the main focus. The diagrams are to be simple analysis line drawings with coloured arrows,etc. to depict the different analysis(as in my hand done sketches)i will type the text and send it forward to make it easier. The "present" column will include my case studies which i have done. I shall send that too. The elements chart is separate right now. There are changes to be made and diagrams to be added which also i will give you a rough sketch of, soon. Same goes for the gardens part. Go through the old historical and element study chart, then see the new outline and then the images.(i am uploading images only for one category at the moment)
