The KNA uses the following criteria to calculate a funding for a scientist by using an internal method,
calculateAwardFunding( ). The maximum amount of a funding that can be awarded by a scientist is $500,000. The
maximum score that can be obtained by a scientist for evaluation is 100. The total score = Position Rank’s score +
Published Papers’ score + Past Funding’s score. It means that if a scientist’s score is 80, the amount of the new
funding can be earned by that scientist is (80 / 100 * 500,000) = $400,000
