SSH freezes and requires restart to work

I have 15 years of experience in Linux server administration and PHP Programming. This can he a server load/traffic or hardware related issue. I can check why this is happening.

Hi There, If you are aware of scripts, create a cron which checks the process, if return null. grep all the process and logs of system then restart the sshd. else replace sshd config file. do let me know if you need help on this.

I have 27 years experience in IT working for a bank(Absa) in South Africa, so I believe I'm loyal. Barclays is in the process of selling us and our currency(ZAR) has just been downgraded to Junk status so I'm looking to earn foreign currency. Of the 27 years 15 of them have been on different flavours on Unix. My primary focus has ben on system monitoring using shell scripts to collect metricts and feed them upto a mysql db to creat ealerting and consol views. Try checking netstat -nap and see if there are unclosed sessions on port 22 Dave
