Rich Text (RTF) ActiveX Editor with Secure Fields
WordPad lookalike editor utilizing this control, with ability to open and save RTF files.
Summary:
An ActiveX control to edit RTF data passed to it, with extra features to support inserting secure fields of data. Functions will be supplied to convert plaintext into bin64, and vice versa, given a passphrase; and if passphrase is invalid, to return a null. Each secure field is a word (i.e., surrounded by spaces) inside the RTF file consisting of [[ followed by bin64 printable characters, followed by ]]. The secured field is displayed and treated specially, and has options for inserting and extracting secure data. The control has at the top a passphrase field, which is used to decrypt the secure fields. The secure fields are displayed as red checkered rectangles if the main passphrase entered at the top cannot decrypt it, i.e., the supplied decryptor returns null on this, or blue if the main passphrase field content does successfully decrypt it, i.e., the supplied decryption function returns a non-null response. In addition to this control, a WordPad look-alike program should be included, that uses this ActiveX control, to allow loading and saving RTF files, and allow testing and demonstrating the ability to handle all the required functions. See attached ZIP file for details of how this control should behave.
