Programming Language
The application should be written in VC++ Version 6. The installer should be written using Wise Installation System, Installshield or another common installation program
Installation
The installer should install the Microsoft SAPI engine and place the Voice Recognition executable in c:\Program Files\APSVoice. The installer should run silently.
INI File
This document refers to an INI file in many sections. In ALL cases the INI file being referred to is at c:\AdvPubSafety\vp.ini. This file will be created by our existing software and contain the appropriate settings prior to installation of APS Voice.
System Tray
A green circle icon should appear in the system tray whenever the program is loaded and ready to accept voice input. The circle should turn yellow when voice input is being received. The circle should turn red when the application is processing the voice input.
Graphical User Interface
The application should have no graphical interface.
Application Activation
The application should only accept voice input when a hotkey is being pressed down (e.g. Left Control Key). The hotkey should be selectable from the INI file. A short wave file should be played for keypress down and a different wave file played for release. These files should be selectable in the INI file.
Grammer
The only recognizable commands should be one of two phonetic alphabets (see exhibit "A") as determined by the INI file, 0-9 and a set of commands from the INI file (i.e. Run Tag, Clear Screen, Send Tag). A-Z and 0-9 should emulate a keyboard press. So if the user was in Notepad and the program heard "alpha" an "a" would be typed in Notepad. These commands should send a keystroke combination when recognized (i.e. Ctrl-Alt-S)
